“Save Your Sex For Me” opens Allegiance’s run through the same Walden/Frazer engine as “Can We Try Again” two tracks later, with a genuinely unexpected co-writer: alongside Hewett, Mike Mani, and Sally Jo Dakota, the song credits Nia Peeples - the “Fame” actress who had her own recording career, including the 1988 Number 1 dance hit “Trouble” - as a writer. Walden produced and arranged the track, playing keyboards, drum programming, Moog bass and synth himself alongside Mani, while David Frazer again handled the recording and mix.

Cynthia Shiloh and Kimaya Seward provide backing vocals here - a different pairing from the singers on “Can We Try Again,” a reminder that Walden rotated his session cast track to track even within the same album.
