The Roof (Back In Time)(Album Version)

Released as a single in 1998, “The Roof (Back In Time)” revisits a romantic encounter through a cinematic rain-soaked memory. Carey co-wrote and co-produced the Butterfly track with Walter Afanasieff; its production incorporates a sample from Mobb Deep’s “Shook Ones (Part II).” It peaked at No. 87 in the UK.
